Wizard of Gems, has a wizard theme. The symbols are magical gems and spell book. The cheeky wizard stands to the side of the interface and celebrates the player’s wins.

Wizard of Gems is a new additions to Play’n Go’s range of titles. Play’n Go has released over 50 unique games in no less than 30 different languages.

They are based in Sweden and all their games are available for play, without download. Their previous titles, are colourful quirky pokies with original features and good pay back percentages.

Design

Wizard of Gems’ interface is set to the backdrop of a forest. And two large trees arch over either side of the interface slowly dropping autumn leaves past the symbols. The panel is down the bottom of the interface and has a nice basic layout.

The current multiplier is represent in bubbles, on top of the interface. The border for the symbols are two poles, one on either side. And the lack of internal borders gives the appearance the symbols are resting on one another, instead of being confined to the reels. There is also an animation when the game is first loaded, showing the wizard burst into gems.

How to play

Wizard of Gems is a five reel pokies with twenty pay lines. Wins are played left to right, meaning the beginning symbol of the players winning line, must be in the first reel on the left.

The spin button is down the bottom right of the interface and pressing it begins the players turn. This is a drop down pokies. As winning pay lines are made, the gem symbols break. All the symbols in the reels shuffle down, and new symbols fall into the interface.

Drop down games are nice to mix it up with. There is no limit to how many winning lines a players can make, as new symbols drop down in the place of the old. The smallest bet is .20 credits and largest is 50 credits. The players bet is changed on the interface, using the arrows or by clicking on a new amount.

Bonus Features

Wizard Gems has a multiplier which works pair with the drop down functionality. All wins are multiplied by a factor that increases, every time the player makes a winning line. The game goes up to a five times multiplier and will remain there until the spin stops winning.

Landing three stars anywhere on the reels will win 10 free spins and up to 50 free spins can be won. The Book of spells symbol is wild and will act in the place of any symbol, except a star to complete a payline. At least one Wild symbol is guaranteed per free spin.

Wizard Gems is not that good. It looks nice and is fun to play, but it chews through a player’s bankroll. The player payback percentage is a generous 96.66%. But the value of the symbols are too low.

The only way to win a substantial amount of credits, is by first unlocking a multiplier and then going on to win multiple paylines in the one spin. The jackpot also leave a lot to be desired at a mere 500 credits, and that is only after the player had first unlocked the five times multiplier.
