April,2016 seems to be a busy month for the guys in Play ‘N Go, with the launching of their two new video pokie games on the market. Both are inspired by great explorers and both have similar design.
Golden Caravan is a simple video pokie game with 10 pay lines and 5 reels, but there is more than meets the eye once you scratch under the surface. Designed like a high variance pokie game, the pay table combined with the bonus round, makes Golden Caravan capable of producing mass winnings up to 250,000 coins.
What We love
For most gamblers their first encounter with video pokie machines was probably in the local casino. If you compare the games you will see that they are very similar in design. We like that there are only 10 pay lines which can be manipulated, so with a $1 total bet you will be playing with 10 cents per line. This in return can award decent winnings even during base play.
The pay table seems pretty strong with a 5,000 coins maximum payout for 5 wild symbols on the reels. Like in most other pokie games the best is saved for the bonus round. We like that the scatter symbols turn to extra wilds in the free spins, so your chances of winning big increase. We also like that the scatters only land on reels 1, 3 and 5.
Bonus rounds that are triggered this way may not be attractive for a big number of gamblers, but in this game it provides the easiest way to get that elusive 5 of a kind wild win. The option to retrigger the free spins is always welcomed especially if you get all 3 scatter/wild symbols on a winning pay line. This way a big win is almost guaranteed.
What We Do not Like
The only thing we don’t like in this game is that the number of free spins is reset to the original 10 with every re-trigger you get. The fact that the multiplier increases by 1 in return is great, but we would like to keep the number of accumulated free spins and not lose them with every re-trigger.
From what we saw while we played the game for real, Golden Caravan is definitely a game worth playing. Even though it is promoted as a high variance pokie, our experience was totally different. Base play wins were small to medium so your balance doesn’t drop and at times you can even be in a small plus.
The bonus rounds are very easy to trigger and usually land 50-60 spins apart paying out medium winnings. The highest multiplier we got was only x 4 and we had a win of about 70 x total bet. This doesn’t sound like much but considering the total number of winnings in the end of our session we were in a decent plus.
All of the above makes Golden Caravan a decent game to play, awarding good wins on the way and of course a potential to pay really big in the free spins bonus round.
