Cloud Quest is a new pokie developed by Play ‘N Go. They are a forerunner of the online pokie industry, which was founded in 1997. We expect a good game from the Swedish company because that is what they make. They have released over 70 titles, which are to be commended for their aesthetics, gameplay and just being all round great games. Cloud Quest has a futuristic fantasy theme, type thing. It is set in a city in the sky, and will have you battle monsters with heroes.
What We Like
This pokie is pretty. It is well designed with crisp graphics and excellent visual elements that work well together. Behind the reels, there is an image of the city in the sky. It is an anachronistic city with a blend of old looking technology and the new. It reminded us of Atlantis, and we like to think that Play N’ Go were a little inspired by the mythical city.
Cloud Quest is not your typical pokie. It has a 5×5 layout, like a big square of symbols. We were confused as to how this was going to work, at first. Until we spun the reel and determined that, it is a cascading pokie. For those who don’t know, in a cascading pokie, the reels are not spun.
Rather, symbols cascade down into them. As payline are made the symbols disappear other will fall down to take their place. This is central to the gameplay, and Play ‘N Go who are no strangers to the cascading pokie, have used the game mechanics to bring you some interesting features.
Cloud Quest does not have paylines in the conventional sense.

It will pay a win if you land three or more matching symbols across or diagonal from one another. The symbols will then disappear, and the middle symbol will be replaced by a wild symbol, which will substitute any symbol to make a winning combination. This will happen for any win, and it can start a chain reaction, making more and more wins as wilds add to the reels. This can lead to a massive win as the little wins compound on one another.
After your spin, chances are, you would have collected some power symbols. They fill up the super power meter on the right of the reels. It is a glorified respin feature, with four variations. It is triggered if, after the spin, the selecting pointing thing goes around and lands in the yellow part of the meter. All of the features are very lucrative. There is a bonus free spins feature.
At the beginning of every spins, a glowing bar of light with bonus written in it will choose and settle in one of the rows on the pokie. The bonus free spins is triggered if by making wins, and removing symbols, you clear all the symbols in front of it. It is an interesting feature, in which you battle monsters. You are rewarded an extra 3 free spins for every monster you defeat and there is even a level system.
This game has great winning potential but because it is a cascading pokie, you have to think differently about how they are made. For example clearing all of the symbols on the reels, by making wins, would already have won you a lot of money. However, there is an additional payout of $ 20,000, which is good money.
What we don’t like
The symbols values in this game are not the best. It is kind of a given with a cascading pokie but Play N’ Go could surely have afforded to pike them up a little. You need to land multiple wins in a single spin, to win above the wager but this will happen quite often. We are really just looking for something bad to say, about this great pokie.
Is this game worth playing?
This game is about as worth playing as they come. Play N’ Go has done some original stuff with this pokie. It is a beautifully designed game, with great gameplay and excellent winning potential. We recommend this game whole-heartedly, and hope that you enjoy it as much as we did.
